In a surprising twist for the College Football Playoff national championship, the final game had no SEC team from Alabama. However, our own Desi Tobias had a personal reason to attend the game in Houston. His nephew, William Wagner, is the long snapper for the Michigan Wolverines, who won the national championship.
Desi, an alumnus of the University of Alabama and the Cumberland School of Law at Birmingham’s Samford University, is a distinguished lawyer here in Mobile known for representing personal injury victims here at Tobias and Comer. Despite his Alabama roots, Desi showed support for his nephew and Michigan, celebrating their victory.
Mr. Tobias, a native of Mobile and a McGill-Toolen high school alumnus, is also noted for his service on the school advisory board and his family ties, including his wife Cecelia and their four children.
